Session 5- Week Two
This week, we experimented with eggs, rainbows, sound, earthworms, magnets, and more marble mazes. It was a great week- the campers were excellent scientists, explorers, artists, and writers!

Camper work together to describe their egg experiment and what they think will happen to their egg. They covered their shell-less egg with sand, water, and red food coloring to find out what will and will not pass through the egg’s membrane.

Showing off the rainbow sun catcher.

Camper checks out the rainbows on his sun catcher and adds UV beads for decoration. Before making these projects, we experimented with lenses, prisms, diffraction gratings, CD’s, flashlights, and sunlight to figure out how to make rainbows both inside and outside.

There’s always time for some fun in the sun.

Camper gets a closer look at an earthworm through a magnifying glass.

Campers explore a vermicompost as a part of learning all about earthworms.

Campers choose words from a class-created list to write their own stories about earthworms.

Exploring magnets and black sand.

On the last day of camp, our seeds finally sprouted!
