Exploratorium Summer Camp 2007

For “morning surprise” the campers drew fun life size pictures of camp counselor, Marcus in different ‘forms’. These campers are working on drawing Marcus as a clown.

Luigi the Great Magician came to our camp today and showed us some amazing tricks!

All the campers had to take the ‘magician’s vow of silence’ before Luigi would tell us how the trick works.

The counselor also have a few ‘tricks’ up their sleeves.

Sarah shows off her handcrafted bag made from 100% recycled materials.

Today campers got the chance to make (and try out!) their own hula hoops from bendable pipes.

The hula hoops were also given a personal touch with tape designs on the outside and beans or rice on the inside.

Some campers made sundials in a two day woodworking workshop. They learned how to use a handsaw, sandpaper, a screwdriver, and an electric drill. Now we just have to hope that the sun comes out so we can try them out!
