Found this in an article
theobromine which is an ingredient found in chocolate, is nearly a third more effective in stopping persistent coughs than the leading medicine codeine.
So more dairy milk when i get a cough.

I wonder how much dark chocolate should one eat a day? Is 20g sufficient? If I eat too much of it, I tend to get consitpation.

Chocolate is actually proven to work as a serotonin re-uptake inhibitor. The chemical, serotonin, is needed between brain cells to ensure correct signal transmission.

If a brain cell produces too much serotonin to be used by nearby cells, it will take the excess back. In depressed individuals, not enough serotonin stays between the cells to aid in proper communication. The chemicals in chocolate block the reuptake (the takeback) of serotonin so that it is forced to stay between braincells as opposed to being mopped up by the cell that transmitted it.

The feel good amines in chocolate demonstrate a definite elevation of mood. That's how chocolate works.

Chocolate covered prunes are sold in the North of Europe.  It provides  the "feel good" for the winter blues in the brain and the "feel good" for the digestive tract.  Dark chocolate is obviously healthy, unless you're Mayan!

I've read that eating dark chocolate regularly is like drinking a glass of red wine a day.  In fact, better than wine.  I changed from a small glass of wine a day to a square of at least 65% cacoa dark chocolate a day. Lots of antioxidants and bioflavanoids.

I think that the pure cocoa powder is where the benefits are. The processed candy versions are not beneficial at all

Chocolate is food that make you feel good, it is because, according to some studies, it boost the release of dopamine in the brain. However, do note that only dark chocolate is good for health. Milk chocolate and white chocolate contain high content of sugar and is fattening.
