Dark chocolate is healthy, at least, if you eat around 1 or 2 pieces a day. White or milk chocolate isn't really that healthy though.

I've heard that dark chocolate will help your blood to be thinner, which means that you have a less chance on heart attacks or any of that.

Davy.

I have some bad memories about choclate, I had acne because of this. Probably because I used to eat it too much when I was a teenager, so if your children have acne, check if they don't eat too much choclate.

Chocolate as a medicine is just the excuse that my 9 year old (chocoholic) daughter needs (NOT!) so hopefully she will NEVER see this forum and my life will remain liveable Smiley

I cant wait to tell my mom! She will love the new excuse.

Dark chocolate is really good in medicine in health. But I don't think it is important for us health. It is good for us humor only!  Tongue

I've read that dark chocolate contains a large number of antioxidants that protects the body from damage by free radicals which causes aging.

Yes. I've heard that, too. Not too certain whether anyone can visibly confirm that.

Of the medicinal foods, the one I KNOW works (from countless personal experience) is garlic (or garlic extract in gel pill form). If taken at the very first sign of a cold or sore throat, it can stop a cold virus dead in its tracks. It is the allicin in the garlic that does the trick. It's a natural antibiotic. I've stopped dozens of colds dead in their track using garlic pills.

ya, it's definitely important to distinguish that we are talking about HIGH COCOA PERCENTAGE DARK CHOCOLATE.

If you expect to find any nutritional value, in say Hershey's Kisses, Good luck! Not going to happen.

Chocolate is a medicine, of course the finest one, with lot of cocoa, others are not definetelly! They are just mixture of fat and other stuff. You know, it is similar as with coffee, you have the finest coffee but also the usual. But people love the both Smiley
