Tsukemono: Pickled Japanese Vegetables by Kay Shimizu

One of the two books I know of on Japanese pickles. Great easy to follow recipes (over 70) for pickles that take anywhere from a few hours to weeks. One of my favorites is garlic in miso, take 4 days before you can eat them and very easy to make.

Amazon lists it but with no price, I bought mine at Kinokuniya in San Francisco for $16.95.

Oh this is so great, I live in SF too and I'm learning about Asian cuisines. Kinokuniya books is a wonderful resource for books that you don't find in the major chains.
If you don't hav e one near you, check out their online store and order from Singapore!

You don't need to order from as far away as Singapore if you live in the US.

Kinokuniya stores are in several metropolitan areas and the New York store has a web site you can order from:

They also have a 'Store Locations' button that lists all their US stores.
