Bake at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) for 12-15 minute or until golden brown. Brush tops with butter when they come out.

here your problem is sugar. sugar has a very low specific heat capacity, which mean it can handle less heat before burning up. Your temperature is ok. dilute the sugar and put it as low concentration as possible.

I baked scones on parchment paper and none of them burned even though they cooked for 14 minutes or so.

U can upper the Bottom of the case with Feet and Push or Pull air from there,

Lacking ciggy paper just now I tried double thickness of baking parchment. It seems to work quite well  and there is pretty much an endless supply in the kitchen.  It would be better to do without extra aids  and I would thing regular practice would toughen up the inside lip.  But in the early stages when keen to play a lot the paper would seem to be a great help.
