Egg Whites on Chicken Skin? (Read 81 times)

Hi,

I'd like to smoke chicken that has crispy skin. Unfortunately, the low temperature of smoking doesn't crisp it up very much.

I was thinking of scraping the fat from the underside of the skin and then brushing egg whites on the outside of the skin.

Do you think that might help? Do you have any other advice that might work?

Thanks!

Eric

I think if you want to fry your chicken till it become a crispy you need to put it on a medium temperature. If you put it on a very high temperature then it might possible that the chicken can over fry and it may contain a smoky smell. Try to fry it on a low temperature.

Thank you, but frying won't work.

I'm trying to get crispy skin for a BBQ competition and they don't allow frying.

Iv recently been purchasing Golden Eggs: Cutting Edge. Its basically just egg whites with added protein i think every 213g of whites is like 35g protein. So i was thinking anyone know some good recipes or things i could make out if it cause personally egg whites are just so dull haha. Thanks guys

Hi Guys....

I do agree with donaldthomas that you need to fry at very low temperature otherwise it would burn .

Could be a dumb question but was wondering if anyone has ever seen a coop design where if the chicken lays an egg perhaps there is a sloping path where the egg could roll away to be kept cleaner?

Anyone have some great recipes to use up egg whites? I make creme brulee once a week and I have 16 egg whites leftover each time. I was freezing them to make pavlova, angel food cake etc. but I just have to much Im thinking more savory dishes rather than sweets. Souffles maybe?
Thanks

What about a nice homemade tomato soup?  The one I make calls for chicken broth, but it could very easily  be vegetable broth...I keep meaning to try it out with some pork chorizo sausage in there too....bet its good

Currently working on my Services and Amenities sheet and cannot find prices for Egg-U-Like and other Multymeat products. Have they been posted anywhere?

Thanx,
